MTC ORIENTED FOR THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ON ZDSP CONDITIONS.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLRD) through the Zambia Devolution Support Program (ZDSP) oriented Mporokoso Town Council Management staff and other senior officers on the new eligibility criteria and restructured disbursement link indicators for the 2025 Devolution Support Grant.
During the meeting, Senior Solid Waste Management Officer in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Nachombe Nang’amba and Information Technologist (IT) Mr Wanzi Ngulube, shared that Councils qualification for the 2025 World Bank supported Grant,
was dependent on satisfying newly set conditions which among others included having a unqualified audit statement, formulating a clear stakeholder engagement plan and having an environmental risk management plan in place.
Other existing conditions included , having focal point personnel in place such as Engineers, Public Health Inspectors and Procurement Officers.
Later after the orientation, the team proceeded to inspect the Bus station which was among the Projects Mporokoso Council identified for implementation using the Devolution Support Grant.
The Local Government and Rural Development team under Devolution Support Unit, was accompanied by Provincial Local Government Officer ( PLGO) Mr. Alfred Nyambose.
