Mporokoso Town Council has commissioned and handed over three earth-moving machines—a motor grader, roller compactor, tipper truck—and an ambulance procured under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to boost service delivery and community development.
Speaking at the event, District Commissioner Mr. Brian Muyuni said the development demonstrates what government and communities can achieve together. He noted that the equipment will enhance road maintenance, open up remote areas, and stimulate economic growth, while the ambulance will improve access to healthcare. He urged the community to safeguard the assets and ensure they are used for inclusive development.
Council Chairperson Mr. Nick Nkole thanked government for the support and stressed the need for regular servicing of the machinery to maximize its benefit to residents.
District Health Director Dr. Namata welcomed the ambulance, noting it will strengthen emergency response and reduce preventable deaths. He pledged proper use and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure long-term service.
The handover was made possible through the increased CDF allocation, with gratitude extended to all stakeholders who prioritized infrastructure and health.
