PDU NATIONAL DELIVERY DAY SHOWCASES GOVERNMENT PROGRESS
LUSAKA – 30/03/2026
The Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) held its Annual National Delivery Day in Lusaka, bringing together ministries and government agencies to present progress on presidential priorities. The event was held under the theme “DELIVERING FOR THE PEOPLE FROM COMMITMENTS TO RESULTS .” Mporokoso Town Council was among the districts that attended.
In his keynote address, President Hakainde Hichilema emphasized that government reforms are meant to benefit ordinary Zambians, not external stakeholders. He stressed the need for citizens to experience real improvements in services and opportunities. The President further called for a coordinated, whole of government approach, urging all sectors to work together and encouraging those resistant to change to align with the national development agenda.
Key achievements highlighted included record breaking maize production, increased copper output, improved availability of essential medicines, and a significant expansion in rural electrification since 2022. The President also introduced the concept of provincial economies, where each province operates with clear development plans and measurable targets to strengthen accountability and drive local growth.
PDU Head Kuso Kamwambi noted that the country is beginning to see positive results from consistent and well planned reforms, adding that the progress reflects the importance of building strong foundations.
In closing, President Hichilema thanked Zambians for their patience and resilience. He called on public servants to embrace efficiency, discipline, and a results oriented mindset, reaffirming that while Zambia is on the right path, greater speed, unity, and commitment are needed to achieve more.
