A LEGACY OF PROGRESS: COUNCIL HOLDS ITS FOURTH ORDINARY MEETING
MPOROKOSO- 17/04/2026
As the sun set on a significant chapter of leadership, Mporokoso Town Council convened its final fourth quarter of 2025 proceedings of Ordinary Meeting of the Council a moment not just of routine governance, but of reflection, resolve, and renewed hope.
Inside the chamber, discussions were firm and forward looking. Councillors called for stricter monitoring of projects, determined to protect the community from substandard works and ensure that every development reflects quality and value. The message was clear: progress must be visible, durable, and accountable.
Beyond policy, attention turned to responsibility at the grassroots. Plot owners were urged to clean and develop their land before the June deadline, a move aimed at restoring order, safety, and dignity within the Central Business District transforming neglected spaces into opportunities for growth rather than hiding places for crime.
In his address, Council Chairperson Mr. Nick Nkole painted a picture of transformation in motion. Roads once impassable are being opened, especially in Muchinga Ward, improving access and breathing life into local economic activities. Though heavy rains slowed some works, hope remains strong as projects in Njalamimba, Chimpolonge, and Mutotoshi Wards were set to resume, alongside the anticipated second phase of the bus station.
Yet, beyond infrastructure, his message carried deeper meaning. This was a time to reflect on a journey defined by teamwork, resilience, and shared purpose. Through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and other government efforts, real change had touched communities proof that unity and commitment can deliver results.
As the Council approaches the end of its tenure, Mr. Nkole’s final words echoed with humility and vision, development does not end here. The foundation laid was a stepping stone for what lies ahead. With gratitude, he thanked all stakeholders and expressed confidence that Mporokoso will continue to rise.
And so, as one chapter closes, another begins, built on the promise of continuity, progress, and a community determined to move forward together.
