STAKEHOLDERS AND ASPIRING CANDIDATES BRIEFED AHEAD OF THE NOMINATION EXERCISE.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Mporokoso District successfully conducted the stakeholders’ meeting for the aspiring candidates’ and other stakeholders were they were briefed about the forthcoming nominations.
The meeting was officially opened by the District Electoral Officer, Mr. Henry Siwakwi, who emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among all political players before, during, and after the electoral process. He reiterated ECZ’s commitment to ensuring that all electoral activities are conducted in a free, fair, credible, and transparent manner.
Mr. Siwakwi further assured stakeholders that the Commission remains committed to continuous engagement with political parties, aspiring candidates, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders in order to promote an inclusive and peaceful electoral environment.
During the briefing session, the Mporokoso District Returning Officer, together with other ECZ officials, provided detailed guidance on the nomination process and outlined the required nomination documents and procedures for aspiring candidates. Participants were also taken through key electoral guidelines and expectations aimed at ensuring compliance with electoral regulations.
The meeting was highly interactive, with representatives from various political parties and stakeholders actively engaging ECZ officials through questions, observations, and submissions. All concerns raised were adequately clarified, helping to enhance understanding and preparedness among aspiring candidates and stakeholders ahead of the nomination process.
The briefing forms part of ECZ’s ongoing efforts to strengthen voter and stakeholder awareness while promoting transparency, accountability, and confidence in the electoral process.
