Responsibilities
- To undertake education programs and to sensitize the communities to HIV prevention
- To coordinate community Development programs, capacity and skills development

The Department of Works (Engineering Services) is accountable for the appropriate provision, supervision, coordination, and management of all engineering works within Mporokoso Town, pursuant to the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act, Public Health (Building Regulations) Act, and other statutory provisions.

Roles
- The Department’s role is to provide efficient and effective services to Mporokoso residents, Business owners, and visitors through the provision and maintenance of good and reliable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of Council buildings are done in the District which includes markets shelters, ablution blocks, and revenue houses.
- Installation of street lights and market lighting poles in the district is done
- To provide fire prevention and rescue services
- To supply of clean and safe water to the rural area of the district with an emphasis on adequate sanitation.
- Construction and rehabilitation of the road network in the district are done to recommended standards.
- Ensure that all Council fleet (vehicles) are maintained and repaired.
- Providing landscaping, greening in the district, and general management of open spaces for the purpose of beautifying the District
The department is responsible for the mobilization and prudent utilization of financial resources in order to enhance the smooth operations of the Council.

Responsibilities
- Preparation of annual budgets and undertaking performance management
- Collection of revenue due to the Council from various activities e.g Levies, permits, and charges.
- Preparation of financial statements.
- Timely disbursement of funds to Council projects for service provision.
- Drive the Council towards the use of ICT to enhance efficiency in asset management and overall work performance.
- Assessment of ratable properties in the district for purposes of rates.
The Human Resource and Administration Department are charged with the responsibility of managing, coordinating, and planning all human resource and administrative functions of the Council, including specific responsibility for personnel matters, election management, transport management, and general services.

The Department of Legal Services is responsible for providing legal advise to the Council. Its core functions include ensuring that the local authority operates within the confines of established laws that govern the local government system.The Department further executes various functions inter alia; drafting commercial contracts, Provision of Legal opinions, processing land applications, trading licenses applications, processing of Certificates of Title and occupancy licenses issued under the Urban and Regional Planning Act No.3 of 2015 of the Laws of Zambia etc.
